DEFINTION:


The role of a claims examiner is to review manage the initial and ongoing investigation into an assigned claim against an insurance company. This will include reviewing medical bills or accident reports. Upon completion, the claims examiner is resposible to approve or reject claims and/or arrange a settlement.


SKILLS:


need to have good oral and written skills as you will be communicating with customers.
need to understand the industry and have multiple years in the claims adjusting space.
need to pay special attention to details of the claims.
will be dealing with angry customers and need to be professional in spite of high stress.
